This \u201cOni\u201d (Demon\/Ogre) has no horns, since it represents an incarnation of Buddha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a>With the passing of the years, this time-honored performance praying for divine protection has permeated into the people of neighboring districts. Currently, well-practiced groups of 13 Onikenbai preservation associations, mostly in Kitakami city and in the surrounding areas, are performing in various places including foreign countries, and show grand displays at Kitakami-Michinoku-matsuri (Kitakami-Michinoku festival) in August together with some 100 traditional arts groups (https:\/\/geinoumatsuri.com\/gaiyou\/).
